ABOUT US
A group of Erin residents came together in February, 2016 to form a private sponsorship group, now named Erin Refugee Action. Some of us met as a result of forming this group, others had been friends for a while.
We see this sponsoring experience as not only a way to bring a family to the area, but also as a way to enrich our community through deepening connections between people living here, and creating opportunities for community engagement. This is a broad-scale community involvement initiative with local churches and community groups joining us as we collectively raise funds, build our awareness, and prepare to welcome some new families to Canada.
We continue to follow the lives of the remarkable people we have sponsored and have seen how, with financial and practical support, they have achieved stability and a bright future in Canada. This year 8 of these newcomers will become Canadian Citizens.
